Zapping Auto Moto Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: contact with the 650 hp electric battery!
At the beginning of September, Tesla presented its restyled Model 3, with more or less visible improvements. However, the range has been reduced compared to “phase 1”, since the sports Performance version has not been replaced. Only the Propulsion and Long Autonomy versions remain in the catalog. However, there is no question of abandoning the sportier version of the sedan, like the Plaid on Model S and Model X. It will arrive just a little later.
An interesting element also confirms this theory. In a post published on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the account The Kilowatts (@klwtts) announced its discovery at the end of last week. Digging through the spare parts catalog published by Tesla a few hours earlier for the restyled Model 3, he found some new badges putting him on the track. There should soon be a sporty variant for the Model 3 “Highland” in the catalog.
Tesla’s Parts Catalog confirms Tesla is working on a Performance version of the new Model 3, potentially PLAID!! pic.twitter.com/N7qxt0LUqM

The photo accompanying the post is self-explanatory. We see a badge in the shape of a small flag, which is reminiscent of that of the Plaid version on the Model S and Model Musk. The badge is placed above the Dual Motor logo, below the right rear light.
Specific rims and brakes
In addition to this evocative badge, the catalog displayed new rims as well as brake calipers and pads which seem specific to this sporty version. The rims (numbers 1 and 4 in the image) are not yet available on the Model 3 Highlands sold, and are no longer visible in the quickly updated catalog. These clues could therefore be an error on the part of Tesla, a little too eager to unveil the new Model 3 Performance.
Moreover, the name Performance could be changed, potentially by the name Plaid to coordinate with the other sports Teslas, or another surname like Ludicrous. On the engine side, the sporty Model 3 should be satisfied with two engines and a more reasonable power than the 1,020 hp of the Model S and Model X Plaid, which have three electric motors.

To sum up
Revealed at the beginning of September, the restyled Tesla Model 3 is currently without a sports version. But the replacement for the Model 3 Performance is clearly in the pipeline, as confirmed by images of the spare parts catalog posted online by Tesla, but quickly withdrawn…
