A supercar that flies and an off-road van designed to transport and deploy an eVTOL aircraft, these are the surprising concepts that the AeroHT subsidiary of Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng already imagines marketing.

When Tesla released its first models, the industry automobileautomobile sketched a smirk. Now that the brand is heavy, manufacturers who have not made the switch to electric in time are looking grim. If it is struggling to develop among Western brands, the Chinese are increasingly occupying the field, with many brands of vehicles of this type marketed at a very competitive price. Among them are the astonishing manufacturer Xpeng and its subsidiary AeroHT, an eVTOL designer. Both revealed surprising concepts, but which could well be functional very quickly. This is the case of a flying supercar and a strange van serving as a takeoff base for a aéronefaéronef eVTOL.
Just like Tesla in its time, these concepts make us smile for the moment, but the company and its subsidiary intend to market them and are giving themselves the means to do so. They could also benefit from the support of the Chinese aeronautical authorities who are now ready to accelerate certification procedures in the territory, or at least facilitate agreements to carry out all kinds of experiments in the development of eVTOL technologies or flying cars. AeroHT has already tested a prototype of this car which weighs two tonnes. In the current concept, the self extracts its toittoit four arms each with two pairs of propellers.

Far-fetched, but not impossible…
Inside, the steering wheel retracts to make room for a broomstick to control the machine. The concept was unveiled at Xpeng Tech Day 2023, but if it becomes functional, this flying supercar should have limited autonomy due to road safety constraints and its massemasse.
The subsidiary also presented another very surprising concept of a rolling aircraft carrier. It is a van with a very angular design vaguely reminiscent of the CyberTruck of Tesla. It has six-wheel drive. It houses a two-seater eVTOL at the rear and is capable of extracting it automatically. At the rear, the chassis lowers, the roofingroofing rises and two doors open to let the aircraft slide. It gradually deploys its landing skids. Then, the van moves away to leave the necessary field for the multicopter so that it can deploy its six arms and take flight.

Hybrid, this van is designed to be able to provide several recharges in energyenergy to the aircraft. Finally, AeroHT also showed a video of its amazing airframe ballistic parachute. It would be capable of saving an aircraft and its crew, even at an altitude limited to 50 meters, which is exceptional! It remains to be seen whether these surprising concepts will meet the same fate as Tesla’s much simpler models as the company ” patinapatina » always on his CyberTruck.
