While the first reports will be sent in the coming months, we now know the amount of fines for noise radar.
We told you about it a few weeks ago. If they were already in the testing phase for a few years already for some, it is in 2022 that the anti-noise radars will finally begin to fining offenders. Already installed in several municipalities in France, such as Toulouse, Nice, Rueil-Malmaison or even Saint-Forget, in the Chevreuse valley, these devices were currently only in the testing phase, which will last a few more months. So don’t panic, the first VPs shouldn’t drop right away. Indeed, a new phase of experimentation will be put in place in the coming months, before the start of the verbalizations, planned by the end of the year.
A hefty fine
However, while the precise date of operation of these radars has not been announced, it will be better to exercise caution. Especially since the sanction promises to be rather steep, as revealed by our colleagues from the Parisian, which exclusively disclose the amount of the fine. This will then be set at € 135, while no point withdrawal is fortunately provided for offenders. However, we do not yet know the precise modalities of the verbalizations, while last August, the director of Bruitparif affirmed that ” a maximum decibel threshold will be fixed by decree to determine the level at which it is appropriate to penalize a driver who makes too much noise ».
According to a recent study commissioned by Bruiparif, 87% of Ile-de-France residents would be in favor of strengthening checks and penalties, especially for noisy motorized two-wheelers. Note that noise pollution would cost more than 156 billion euros each year.
