Chinese company Skyworth recently unveiled the Skyhome, its electric sedan with impressive features. The model offers services worthy of a private jet: refrigerator, giant television, reclining seats. A high-end car that could well come and tickle the Tesla Model S on the Chinese market.
A sedan on the level of the Model S?
The Chinese still like sedans. The offer available to them is very wide. To find a place for themselves, local manufacturers must therefore differentiate themselves. This is precisely what Skyworth (a subsidiary of the giant Skywell) decided to do with its model called Skyhome. A brand little known in Europe, but which is starting to make a name for itself on the Chinese market. With the Skyhome, a concept which corresponds 90% to the future production version, the manufacturer wants to make a name for itself.
To stand out amid the flood of new electric vehicles in China, the car designed by Skyworth has remarkable high-end equipment. All for a reasonable price. The model will be priced between 220,000 and 250,000 yuan (or 28,000 to 33,000 euros). The elegance of this car is quite striking. It features beautiful clean and flowing lines, unlike the many current models with angular shapes.
You won’t believe the size of the Galaxy E8’s gigantic screen
The impressive amenities of the Skyhome
But it is the interior that catches our attention. At the front, the manufacturer promises a gigantic curved screen in which the dashboard and the infotainment system are housed. At the rear, another huge screen is available to passengers. It descends directly from the ceiling. It’s almost better than at the cinema as you can see in the photo below! The interior probably has many neat materials, enough to give a very luxurious feel to this sedan.
Passengers seated in the rear seats will be able to benefit from a refrigerator installed in the central console. As if that wasn’t enough, the seats can also recline into a lying position and have a foot massage function. Better than a private jet, right?
The driver will be entitled to a yoke-type steering wheel. Skyworth promises marketing in two versions: two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The electric sedan will develop 617 hp (460 kW) and should be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. It promises !
