Renault Espace: a seven-seater SUV to replace it?

If the current Renault Espace will leave the catalog in 2023, a future seven-seater SUV could resume its name in the coming years.

As we know, Renault plans to clean up its range in the coming months and years. Some time ago, before the arrival of Luca de Meo at the head, the manufacturer had indeed announced the disappearance of Talisman, Scénic and Espace, whose success was no longer there, due in particular to their belonging to declining segments. This is particularly the case for the Renault Space, whose sales have been divided by twelve in fifteen years, with only 4,840 copies sold in 2020. A worrying figure for the large MPV, at a time when this type of bodywork no longer really appeals to customers.

An indirect replacement

However, if it will therefore disappear from the catalog in 2023, it should then be replaced indirectly by another model, which will most likely take the form of a seven-seater SUV, as announced by our colleagues from Challenges. It should then be neither more nor months to be the elongated version of the future Renault Austral, which will be responsible for taking the place of the current Kadjar and which should soon see the light of day. This next Scénic should then arrive six months after the latter, with deliveries scheduled for spring 2023 therefore. Assembled in Palencia, in Space, the SUV should then display a generous length of 4.70 meters.

For now, no information has yet been given on the engines that will equip this future Renault Scénic, which should undoubtedly be available in a version E-Tech hybride rechargeable.
