With its Nexo, Hyundai broke an endurance record for a hydrogen vehicle on the Val Thorens ice circuit. Conclusion, more than 6 hours of driving in -6 degrees, with the young driver Adrien Tambay at the wheel.
After driving for 6 hours, the French pilot completed 190 laps of the Alpine circuit, located at over 2,200 meters above sea level, without reloading, setting a new record. The fuel cell SUV thus proves that it can operate in extreme climatic conditions, while retaining a certain autonomy.
Of course, the vehicle has evolved at a slow pace but the results are nevertheless encouraging for this technology which allows full recharging in only a few minutes while filling up with hydrogen at the pumpunlike electric vehicles which plug into electrical outlets. We were there to follow the event.
