Zapping Two Wheels Auto Moto Honda Transalp 2023 test: the benchmark trail finally back?
The technical inspection of motorcycles could be applied in France from April. A measure which remains criticized by bikers, many of them deeming it “useless”. A boycott of this measure should even be put in place… especially since this will have no effect on insurance.
Thus, a motorcyclist driving without technical inspection will continue to be insured. This will happen at least for those insured with the Mutuelle des Motards. The latter detailed this in a message relayed on social networks by the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC)
“With or without technical inspection, mutual insurance is there. At Mutuelle des Motards, we will naturally continue to support you whether to take out a contract or in the event of an accident.”
“Technical inspection is not a condition for the application of our guarantees, in accordance with our general and specific conditions. With or without technical inspection, you will therefore be well compensated by the Mutuelle des Motards.”
Promote free and shared use of two-three wheels
And the Mutual to remind that “prevention insurance counts!”. In the meantime, the latter again reiterates that“as an expert insurer, the Mutuelle des Motards is and will always remain vigilant on all matters of prevention and safety promoting free and shared use of the road in two-three motorized wheels.”
Statements that will undoubtedly please many bikers. It remains to be seen whether other insurance companies will do the same in the future. Remember that, according to the Maids two-wheel accident report, 0.3% of two-wheel accidents involve a machine in poor condition.

To sum up
The Mutuelle des Motards will continue to insure motorcyclists who have not carried out a technical inspection of their motorcycle. The company has, in fact, just published an unequivocal message on this subject. Enough, undoubtedly, to encourage the already planned boycott of this measure.
