Jeep gives a new preview of its second electric model, the Wagoneer S, including the first glimpse of the cabin.
After a teaser published in mid-January, the final version of the Wagoneer S is showing off more. There are, however, no surprises for the exterior design, which Jeep unveiled with a pre-production vehicle from September 2022 during a conference dedicated to its electric vehicle plan.
But this time, we get a glimpse of the inside. The dashboard gives pride of place to screens. On the best-equipped versions, there will be four: two for the central console controls, one for the instrumentation and one facing the passenger. The Wagoneer S will therefore give pride of place to digital technology, with the exception of the controls on the steering wheel and the dial to adjust the Selec Terrain driving mode.
In addition to Eco, Auto and Sport modes, we can see two Sand and Snow settings. Proof that this electric model does not forget its off-road capabilities. Jeep indicates that the vehicle will have a panoramic sunroof as standard and will be able to receive a 19-speaker audio system from McIntosh.
Test – Jeep Avenger: consumption and autonomy measured in our Supertest
The Wagoneer S will be Jeep’s second electric vehicle, after the Avenger, but the first only equipped with this type of engine. It will inaugurate the STLA Large base, which Stellantis has just presented. This will be able to accommodate batteries from 85 to 118 kWh. For its large Range Rover-looking SUV, Jeep has already confirmed the presence of 600 hp.
The model will be launched by the end of the year, first in the United States, then in Europe. The full presentation date has not been revealed. But we think it could be during the Superbowl, the famous American football final, on February 11.
