The Porsche Macan EV promises considerable autonomy with its XXL battery. This would be provided by the global specialist CATL.
After the Taycan, Porsche will move up a gear in the electric vehicle segment with the Macan EV. This new generation of the model should significantly contribute to the increase in sales of electric cars for the German brand. The technical sheet is up to par for this, as are the technical choices.
Usually trusting LG Chem for the Taycan’s battery, Porsche is now turning to CATL to form the 95 kWh battery installed in the floor. A more truly surprising technical choice, the Chinese giant already offering its cells to Volkswagen, and taking advantage of a leading position in the battery market.

No additional information has been communicated regarding the technology used. However, note that the electric SUV has NMC811 prismatic chemistry cells. This effectively rules out the Shenxing Battery technology recently presented by CATL, which is based on LFP chemistry.

Also, the Porsche Macan EV would not appear, conditionally, to benefit from the Qilin Battery solution, where all the cells are connected together to form a single module (Cell to Pack method). We would find a fairly classic configuration in modules. As a reminder, the Porsche Macan EV will be based on a 95 kWh battery operating at a voltage of 800 V.
