Honda is preparing an electric sedan with an original look. A way to clearly mark your difference in the face of an armada of Chinese cars which are ultimately all more or less identical.
With its corner line, partly inspired by the Kiwami concept from 2003, itself inspired by numerous concepts born in the 70s by different Italian designers, the Honda Saloon stands out from the crowd. Especially when we take into account the comment from Toshihiro Mibe (General Manager of Honda), who claims that this concept is 90% identical to the model which will be marketed in 2026.
Honda’s head of style, Daisuke Tsutamori, justifies the radical style of the future sedan by the desire to offer a simple and essential object, and above all, in his own words, less superficial than the multiple Chinese sedans. Not according to him that these different vehicles are not successful from a strict style point of view. Some models thus present rather successful proportions or details. Thus, Daisuke Tsutamor judges their style refined, but superficial.

But most of the offers presented over the last two or three years all seem to come from the same mold. Each brand tries to put its stamp and its identity on an identical general plan, dictated by the same aerodynamic recipes, the same habitability constraints, etc. To convince you, here are around fifteen Chinese sedans. Can you identify them all? Hint, there are models from the following brands in this list:
