Zapping Two Wheels Auto Moto Yamaha 9 GT+ test: techno and hurry touring
The future of electric motorcycles, like cars, involves recharging at ultra-fast terminals. A point on which the Indian start-up Raptee energy is ahead of its competitors. The firm presented a prototype of a high-voltage motorcycle. A world premiere, with imminent production.
The motorcycle can thus be recharged at fast charging stations, with a Combo CCS2 connector. Enough to allow it to gain 80% autonomy in 45 minutes, or to recover 40 kilometers of autonomy in a quarter of an hour of charging. Bikers with thermal motorcycles just have to watch out (!).
The launch of this new high-voltage platform is announced for April 2024. The Chennai start-up, however, did not provide further details on the capabilities of its vehicle, in terms of capacity and battery.
A system destined to develop for motorcycles?
In the meantime, this seems to be going in the direction of the electric motorcycle story. Currently, among the most widespread machines, Zero Motorcycles only offers Type 2 connectivity (slow charging).
Energica offers, for its part, a Combo CCS socket with a power of 23 kW, allowing rapid charging with direct current. Harley-Davidson also offers a solution for connecting to fast charging stations with a Combo CCS2 connector.
To sum up
Indian start-up Raptee energy presented high-voltage electric motorcycle technology. The latter will offer a Combo CCS2 connector. Enough to allow it to connect to fast charging stations.
