The days pass and the situation at the Lorient oil depot does not improve. Construction workers are still blocking this infrastructure. A decision taken as farmers lifted their blockages in recent days.
The Protestants are in fact calling for lower taxation of non-road diesel (GNR). Bruno le Maire, the Minister of Economy and Finance went in their direction, announcing a tax advantage for farmers.
Still, this is not enough. At least, not enough for Norbert Guillou, president of the National Chamber of Craftsmen, Public Works and Landscapes of Morbihan. “Nothing has been signed yet”he blurted out to West France to justify the continuation of the blockade.
The machines still in place
According to information reported by this same media, construction equipment was still blocking access to the oil depot on the evening of February 4… without anyone around. Only a few walkers wandered around these vehicles.
Remember that these demonstrators have been present at the access points of this depot since January 25. Enough to dry up some service stations in recent days in the region.
This also echoes the blockage of the Pallice oil depot, in La Rochelle, since Monday January 29 at 12:30 p.m. The members of the Rural Coordination (CR) of Charente-Maritime, Charente and Vendée are at the origin of this movement.

To sum up
The blockade of the Lorient oil depot by construction workers continues. This despite the lifting of farmers’ blockades. The demonstrators justify this action by the fact that nothing has been signed regarding the tax advantages of non-road diesel (NGR).
