Zapping Two Wheels Auto Moto Peugeot scooter XP400 test: the first maxi scooter from the lion brand!
For several hours, the world of bikers in Paris has been shaken up by a plan to ban the circulation of thermal two-wheelers at night. But could it go further? As soon as this idea was announced, one association, in any case, expressed its desire to go further.
It is, unsurprisingly, from Ras le Scoot that a disastrous project emanates. Its members are leaning towards a ban on the circulation of thermal motorized two-wheelers day and night. Franck-Olivier Torro, spokesperson for the collective known for its anti-biker positions, spoke on this subject on BFMTV :
“We are waiting for thermal motorized two-wheelers to be completely banned from circulation. This is what will happen (…) We must act. It is a scourge for many people.”
“A biker who travels with an unapproved pot wakes up thousands of people (…) we would prefer a ban on thermal motorized two-wheelers night and day, which would allow us not to have to check at night to see if there is circulation of thermal motorized two-wheelers.”
Conflict of interest in sight?
A project and an intervention by a person who would be exposed to a conflict of interest on this subject. If this has not been mentioned on BFMTVInternet users did not fail to point out that Franck-Olivier Torro works at Riese & Müller, a German bicycle manufacturer.
Thermal motorized two-wheelers therefore provide direct competition in cities. Does this Ras le Scoot project therefore have above all a lucrative objective? Because Parisian elected officials carrying this traffic ban have promised assistance in purchasing bicycles for users turning away from thermal motorized two-wheelers.
Towards an experiment?
Remember that the Independents and Progressives group is leading this project. Pierre-Yves Bournazel, Paris councillor, co-president of the political group in question, spoke on February 6 of aid for the purchase of bicycles, BFMTV :
“Those who use thermal motorized two-wheelers, we tell them “We will help you financially to buy an electric two-wheeler, or a bicycle or a cargo bike”.”
This political group wishes to carry out an experiment on this subject. Everything must be debated in the Paris Council these days. A project that bikers describe as useless.
Which can be explained in various ways. The vehicles sold already all meet strict standards. As for offenders, the police or sound radars can enforce the law, instead of penalizing everyone.
