Zapping Auto Moto Alpine A110 MP-RC test: a real racing car at a good price?
Is this what we call karma? Still, while Parisian elected officials have just decided, among other autophobic measures, to triple the price of parking for cars deemed too heavy, a mayor of Loiret has decided to respond, in his own way…
Ugo Planchet, councilor of Saint-Aignan-le-Jaillard, issued a decree to charge for parking… for Paris councilors, in his municipality! Set up this Tuesday, February 6, the latter has, naturally, a humorous scope. This is about ridiculing the vote organized this Sunday in the capital. Was there really a need for it?
To perfect the subject, the mayor published a municipal decree based on “article n°42 of the Code of Public Absurdity of Territorial Communities”. The measure applies “as soon as a Paris municipal councilor tries to park in our charming town”.
This is set up “all year round, without exception, to all types of vehicles of Paris municipal councilors, with the exception of scooters, which are strictly prohibited from parking on the territory of the municipality”.
Heavy punishment for offenders…
The price of parking is modeled on that which will be implemented in the capital at the start of the school year. On the other hand, the sanctions will be visibly different… and much more joyful!
In fact, any offender “will have to present a public apology to all citizens of Saint-Aignan-le-Jaillard and offer a general tour to the nearest bar”. Enough to promise beautiful evenings for the residents!
Please note that a special rate is also planned. This concerns municipal councilors’ bicycles weighing more than 10 kg. The price will be tripled on February 29 of each leap year. Be careful, it will add up quickly.
A “non-negligible” participation rate of 0.16%
Everything was put in place after a “democratic vote in which a person has expressed themselves”, explains Ugo Planchet on his Facebook page. What to reflect “a significant participation rate of 0.16%, and a result 100% favorable to the establishment of a parking rate specific to municipal councilors of the city of Paris”.
The whole thing is, naturally, “to share without moderation to denounce the absurdity of Paris town hall”. The Parisian vote (the real one, the one intended to be serious) was, in fact, followed by… 5.68% of citizens. Only 78,121 of the more than 1.3 million registered voters gave their opinion. And only 42,000 of them were in favor of tripling the parking rate for SUVs.
A ridiculous participation rate, for a vote costing no less than 400,000 euros (more than five euros per voter). Which will not prevent the Paris town hall from implementing its project from the start of the school year. And Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy of the Paris town hall, ensured that the number of voters was “Extremely important”. It takes little to be happy…

To sum up
While Parisian elected officials are going to triple the price of parking for cars deemed too heavy (SUV, etc.), following a poorly attended vote on February 4, a mayor has decided to fight back. He issued a decree to charge for the parking of the vehicles of the municipal councilors of Paris, in his commune. A way to “respond to the absurd with the absurd” according to him.
