Zapping Auto Moto Alpine A110 MP-RC test: a real racing car at a good price?
If you take the motorway regularly, you have undoubtedly noticed: the month of February coincided with an increase in motorway prices. On average, the increase on the different sections was around 3% this year.
Enough to increase the bill for motorists. Faced with this, few solutions are possible. If the best thing is not to take the motorway, it is also possible to take these roads without losing too much time but splitting the bill.
There is indeed a counter-intuitive trick for this. It’s simply a matter of splitting your journey. That is to say, exiting at certain specific locations, to immediately re-enter the highway, at the same location.
A site to split your bill
Prices are, in fact, not linear on the highways. A journey may cost more if it is made in one go than if it is made in several installments. The trick is there: you have to find the right exits to take to divide your journey and lower the price.
For this purpose, an engineer from Nantes, Franck Saless, created a site specifically dedicated to this in 2009. It is called autoroutes-eco.fr. The latter lists 510 toll stations for 94,340 fares. The data is updated every year.
And this can have a real effect on prices. The saving can climb up to 30% on certain journeys, according to Franck Saless. Whatever it is, its cost is ultimately limited in terms of time and quickly saves tens of euros, even hundreds for drivers using the motorway daily.
