Let us render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. Almost a year ago, we were surprised that the revised and corrected version of the Jeep Renegade presented a little over a year earlier in Brazil had still not arrived on our roads. At the time, we still thought that the urban SUV would continue its career alongside the more compact electric-only Avenger. Only, a little later, we learned that the latter would be able to be ordered with a thermal engine, as was already the case in certain other markets. In fact, a second restyling of the Renegade no longer really made sense. And all the more so since he is no longer really young. Never mind, the big little SUV Jeep is getting a second lease of life for its tenth anniversary. Happy birthday!
Something new inside
Very clever who will be able to identify the Renegade 2024 from the previous model by paying attention to its exterior lines. Moreover, in its press release, the American brand makes no mistake. It doesn’t even highlight the unchanged look of its SUV, it’s the dashboard that we discover first. It’s simple, the revolution is within. Digital instrumentation with 10.25″ screen, new infotainment system with 10.1″ touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto or even new HD digital reversing camera, the Renegade is full of technological novelties.
Another change that helps identify the novelty is a steering wheel with a design borrowed from its big brothers, the Compass and Grand Cherokee. This changes the design of the dashboard quite radically even if, for the rest, many elements do not change, such as the air vents, the grab handle in front of the passenger or the air conditioning controls still placed under the central screen.
No technical changes
Under the hood, you always have the choice between two hybrid engines. A first “simple” hybrid variant of 130 hp with a 48V battery capable of driving very short distances in 100% electric mode using a small 15 kW electric motor integrated directly into the automatic transmission.
Added to this is the plug-in hybrid model with all-wheel drive with the electric motor placed on the rear axle. You always have the choice between two power levels: 190 hp and 240 hp. Jeep says it has optimized consumption with new 18″ class A+ tires, to be confirmed during future tests.
Orders already open, all prices for the 2024 Renegade
Jeep is wasting no time, the model is already available to order. Prices are slightly increased. Count €31,990 for the entry-level finish compared to €30,950 previously. The equipment is already satisfactory with all the new technological features listed above included as well as, in terms of looks, 16″ rims.
Generally speaking, the manufacturer has revised the finishing levels. Only one name is retained, the top of the range Trailhawk reserved for the 240 hp plug-in hybrid engine. And good news, going upmarket, the difference with the old version is reversed. The Trailhawk model therefore costs less than previously (€45,300 compared to €46,100 before restyling). That too is a surprise, but a rather good surprise.

To sum up
For a surprise, it’s a surprise! While we might have thought that it was going to take a well-deserved retirement, the Jeep Renegade is going through restyling for the second time in its career.
