On January 26 last year, after consuming large quantities of beer and vodka, this 47-year-old motorist had the good idea to get behind the wheel…
Ironically, the gentleman went to an addictologist for a consultation and, clearly, there was indeed a problem to be treated.
On the way, he quickly realized that it was not possible to drive in this state. However, he realized it when his car plunged into the Vilaine river after leaving the road. as reported by our colleagues at La Dépêche.
3.29 grams of alcohol per liter of blood
“It’s a miracle you didn’t drown.”declared the judge. “Despite your very heavy alcohol intake, you had a saving reflex, by breaking the window of your car which was already completely underwater, to escape.”
Indeed, an alcoholic coma generally occurs when the bar of 3 grams per liter of blood is exceeded. But there, the gentleman displayed 3.29 g/L!
This was his fourth conviction for drunk driving. His license was therefore withdrawn by the courts. He also received a six-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 150 euros.
