Zapping Auto Moto Renault Rafale: first contact with the large SUV cut from the Losange
Will fuel prices decrease in the days to come? This is what Francis Pousse, president of the fuel and new energy distributors branch of the Mobilians union, anticipates. The price of a liter of unleaded 95-E10 increased by an average of five cents, while diesel increased by almost seven cents last month.
Fortunately, this tension should soon subside. Francis Pousse spoke on this subject on BFMTV this Wednesday morning. And it is intended to be rather positive:
“We are once again in a bearish period. For the coming week, I am confident.” “For 2-3 days, we have already seen that part of the increase in diesel is being erased.”
China pushes prices down
However, changes are quickly noticed in the country. Francis Pousse confirms: “in our stations, we are very reactive both downward and upward, because our net margin is one or two cents [par litre].” This is also explained by the fact that the economic situation in China is changing:
“The barrel is starting to go down, because the economic figures of China, the world’s largest consumer of oil, are falling. So, we are seeing falling prices.”
This occurs while “the countries of OPEC (organization of petroleum exporting countries) have every interest in prices being as high as possible”.
Or, “barrel prices are set internationally and not by consuming states or oil companies. It is the market that sets oil prices.” And it’s quite difficult to act on that.

To sum up
Fuel prices have been rising sharply for almost a month in France. A trend that probably does not please motorists. Fortunately, this could change soon, according to an expert. The news is reassuring.
