An almost complete transition in Île-de-France
The region wants to make a major ecological transition and the public transport network represents a very important part of this strategy. Objective: to have a fleet that runs on bio-methane or electric energy. For this to happen, the infrastructure must adapt. Île-de-France Mobilités claims to have already converted 49 bus depots and 30 other facilities are currently being converted.

We do not yet know how many of these new buses will be 100% electric. Another order for 800 all-electric buses had already been placed in 2021. This will be honored in 2024. By going through the CATP, the regional authority hopes to benefit from ceiling prices negotiated by the purchasing center.
