Tesla has revealed that the Model Y will not have a revised version this year. The electric SUV from Elon Musk’s brand will not have its “Highland” refresh.
Last year, the Tesla Model 3 underwent a makeover, after four years of existence. The electric sedan has inherited a new front and a revised rear, as well as an update to the interior.
This version underwent numerous tests and its code name before its presentation was “Highland”. Since then, the question arose whether the SUV which is based on the sedan, the Model Y, was going to have its own.
In 2023, rumors reported in particular by Reuters and Bloomberg pointed in this direction. The code name “Juniper” appeared, and behind it seemed to hide this restyling of the Model Y.
But ultimately, Tesla confirmed that this would not be the case, as reported by Teslascope. Tesla encourages its customers not to wait to buy a Model Y. The manufacturer promises that there will be nothing new in 2024.
“We have heard your feedback that some customers are waiting to place their orders for the Model Y because they anticipate a facelift similar to the Model 3”wrote the brand. “It is important that we communicate transparently. There will be no Model Y launch this year.”
