Since January 12, the administration of the FIA has started a detailed analysis on the events of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as we already know. The new president of the Federation, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, particularly took things in hand to restore the image of his body. A deadline has in particular been set at 18 mars, so that the matter ends before the start of the new F1 season. The goal is not to repeat the same mistakes.

“The FIA President has launched a consultation with all teams in the Fl on various issues, including this one. On January 19, a point on the agenda of the Sports Advisory Committee will be devoted to the use of the safety car. The next step will be a shared discussion with all F1 drivers. The result of the detailed analysis will be presented to the F1 Commission in February.”

It will therefore be necessary wait until February before getting any clarification.

It is Peter Bayer, general secretary of sports and director of single-seaters, who is responsible for providing elements of response to the board after hearing the teams and drivers. The latter notably took the place of Michael Masi and of Nicholas Tombazis. It is also a wish of the FIA to suggest proposals for optimize the hierarchical organization of the FIA for the 2022 F1 season. Should we therefore expect drastic changes at this level? Will we see Michael Masi again in the role of race director? Response no later than March 18, to find out.
