Compulsory during the probationary license period, the “apprentice” badge must always be visible. What are the risks if this is not the case?
We have all gone through the apprentice box, and some who read us are probably preparing to become one in the coming months. Who says young driver then says additional constraints, such as a specific speed limit, as well as a “A” button to affix to the back of his car, in all circumstances. The purpose of this is to signal to other road users that you are still on probation, and therefore that you may still have some difficulties on the road. The disc must then be displayed throughout this period, which lasts two to three years whether or not you have made the accompanied driving. But what are the risks of driving without? We tell you everything.
A mild penalty
We have all had the experience of forgetting our A before leaving, or worse, of realizing that it was stolen from us while our car was parked. Be aware that in the event of an inspection, you will incur a €35 fine if the police become aware of his absence! Rest assured, no point will be removed from your license, but the best thing is to return it or buy another as soon as possible, in order to avoid another fine. You should also know that putting on an apprentice badge if you are no longer an apprentice is also liable to the same sanction.
Also be careful about the location of the latter, it should ideally not be placed on the rear window, so as not to interfere with visibility. The disc must also respect very specific dimensions and colors, in which case it will not be counterpart and therefore liable to a fine of €35 as well.
