The new Land Rover Defender is available as a convertible

A Dutch company has revealed several renderings of a future Land Rover Defender convertible. Five copies should be produced in 2022.

We all remember the previous generation of the Land Rover Defender, which was then available in a host of versions, from the standard 4×4 to the pick-up via an original convertible variant. If the British adventurer offered a whole new generation last year, the brand’s teams nevertheless wanted to make it a little less exuberant, now offering only one silhouette, available in two lengths. No convertible version therefore, to the chagrin of fans of the English 4X4, while the firm has not communicated on the arrival of such a variation thereafter. Fortunately, it should soon be possible to afford one anyway, thanks to an independent company.

Launch in 2022

In fact, Dutch society Heritage Customs has just unveiled several sketches illustrating a project of Land Rover Defender cabriolet. For the time being, no vehicle has yet been manufactured, but it is only a matter of time, since the firm plans to market five during the year 2022. Called Valiance Convertible, this one takes up the lines of the original version, with its front face very largely redesigned compared to the previous generation. Only evolution, the roof therefore, with a soft top available in several colors.

However, no information has been given on the engine of the machine, which probably incorporates the engines already present in the range of the standard version. Several finishes will be offered, while prices remain unknown for the moment.
