Before seeing its real 5-door production version arrive, the Suzuki Jimny receives an unusual monster truck variant created by Japanese students.
Currently only offered in a 3-door utility version, the Jimny should soon receive the reinforcement of an elongated five-door variant. But a group of Japanese students decided not to wait for this variation, and to create their own model, even more unusual!
An unusual transformation for the Tokyo show
Students from the Nihon Automotive College (NATS) have indeed worked from October on the transformation of a Jimny into a small monster truck, in order to exhibit it at the Tokyo 2022 show. A colossal work, which apparently ended in a rush to exhibit it on the stand in mid-January. The base was that of a Jimny 3-door two-seater belonging to their teacher. The initial instruction was simply to transform it into five doors. The students are then free to shape the project as they wish.
The students therefore had fun modifying it like a mini monster truck, with large off-road tires and a body raised several tens of centimeters. The vehicle was lengthened to be able to integrate the rear doors. It received new bumpers and a slightly different grille. On the roof, we also notice an LED bar above the windshield and the installation of a roof rack, on which is integrated a deployable tent. The entire interior has also been revised, with brown and gray upholstery. Accounts Twitter, Instagram and Youtube of the school and of some students recount the impressive transformations.
