Volkswagen is reviewing the range of its ID.3 for the start of 2022. The German electric compact loses its small 45 kWh battery and raises its prices.
At the start of 2022, Volkswagen is reviewing the range and prices of its compact electric ID.3. This loses in the battle its entry-level variant Pure Performance, equipped with a small 45 kWh battery. Displayed at €34,750 and serving as an access version, it therefore logically drives up the prices of German electrics.
Nearly €40,000 for entry-level
From now on, the VW ID.3 starts with the Pro variant, which must be associated with a 58 kWh battery. With a power of 145 hp, it offers 417 km of autonomy and starts at 39,300 € (excluding bonuses). This is €920 more than the old rate. The access price of the electric compact therefore takes 4,550 € in total. Including the €6,000 bonus (until July 1), the price drops to €33,300 for the entry level.
The ID.3 also offers Pro Performance and Pro S variants, which each boast 204 hp. The Performance variant is paired with a 58kWh battery, offering around 417km of range, while the Pro S gets the larger battery, with a capacity of 77kWh. This offers up to 548 km of autonomy. On the price side, these variants of the ID.3 also undergo a nice inflation since the Pro Performance is displayed at €40,900 (+ €1,020) and the Pro S at €44,600 (+ €810). Both models are still below the threshold of €45,000, allowing access to the maximum bonus of €6,000. As a reminder, between €45,000 and €60,000, the bonus is halved, and therefore increases to €3,000.
Volkswagen ID.3 price (January 2022):
- ID.3 Pro (58 kWh / 145 hp battery): €39,300
- ID.3 Pro Performance (58 kWh / 204 hp battery): €40,900
- ID.3 Pro S (77 kWh / 204 hp battery): €44,600
