Unveiled last October, VanMoof’s first high-speed electric bike will be available at the end of 2022. The Dutch brand announces that it has registered 10,000 pre-orders for its VanMoof V at 3,498 euros.

Acclaimed for its electric bikes in style uncluttered very recognizable, VanMoof recently entered the speed bike market with the VanMoof V. “This demand represents almost the total number of speed bikes sold on the first European market: Belgium (according to the latest estimations) and is an incredible indicator of the public’s appetite for this still unreleased bike”, comments VanMoof in its press release. The manufacturer points out that Germany alone accounts for a third of reservations, followed by the United States and the Netherlands.
A new feature added to the VanMoof V
Sold for 3,498 euros, the VanMoof V is designed on the basis of a frame in aluminium, with two motors housed in the hubs, an automatic transmission, front and rear suspensions and a 700 Wh battery. We will find the typical VanMoof functions, such as the Kick Lock keyless unlocking, the integrated anti-theft device and the Turbo Boost button which provides instant acceleration.
This speed bike will be connected via a application mobile that centralizes all the information and possible settings. To mark the announcement of 10,000 pre-orders, the manufacturer has announced that the VanMoof V will be equipped with a phone holder integrated into the handlebars, more precisely at the level of the stem.
The maximum speed of the VanMoof V will be adapted according to the legislation of the countries where it will be distributed. In France, a speed bike must not exceed 45 km/h, be registered, insured and cannot use cycle paths. In addition, its driver must have an AM license and wear an approved helmet.
