RM Sotheby’s is offering an exceptional Ferrari 288 GTO at auction, the value of which is estimated between 2.4 and 2.6 million euros.
Who hasn’t dreamed of owning a Ferrari in their garage? Well thanks to RM Sotheby’s, you will soon be able to acquire this superb 288 GTO, provided you have a very, very well filled wallet. Indeed, during its auction which will take place on February 2, the house will offer an exceptional copy of the supercar, the second model of the brand to wear the famous GTO badge, after the iconic 250 GTO. A heavy legacy for the sports car, which quickly became a success and which remains today one of the most sought-after models by collectors.
A fine copy
Offered as part of the sale of the Petitjean collection, which will take place in Paris, this copy is in impeccable condition, both inside and out. Bought new by Bepp Mayer, a German driver best known for driving with BMW, and especially at the wheel of the legendary 3.5 CSL. And the least we can say is that he had a taste, having opted for a Rosso Corsa body, paired with a black leather driver’s seat. It is equipped with all the options, from electric windows to air conditioning to car radio.
Purchased in 1998 by the current owner, this Ferrari 288 GTO only displays 9,559 km on its odometer. It nevertheless requires a little restoration, having been exposed without driving for several years.
