Tesla Model S Plaid: discover its insane acceleration in video
ADVERTISEMENT

Do you dream of knowing what it feels like to push the Tesla Model S Plaid to its maximum speed? A videographer did it and shows us the result.

Since its release, the Tesla Model S Plaid has not ceased to be talked about. Because if we have known the electric sedan for a long time in its standard version, this high-performance version having broken a speed record on the Nürburgring displays a totally crazy technical sheet, with a power displayed at 1,020 horsepower, from the alliance of three electric motors, equipped with rotors whose coating is made of carbon fibers. Just that. Suffice to say that the sensations on board must be impressive, while only 2.1 seconds are needed to achieve the 0 to 100 km / h. Especially since Elon Musk’s firm recently launched a Track Mode, increasing the top speed from 262 to 282 km/h.

A stratospheric acceleration

All of these numbers are impressive. But in practice, how does it feel to reach this speed from a standing start? It is that we wanted to know the specialists of the company Carmine’s Import Service, who had the chance to take the wheel of the Tesla Model S Plaid equipped with the famous Track Mode. And fortunately for us, they shared their experience on video, for our greatest pleasure! This test, which should not be reproduced on the open road if you feel like it, was carried out on a concrete track, without having used the Launch Control, even more powerful than Track mode.

Either way, the result is impressive, as the car managed to reach the speed of 276 km/h, in just 17.1 seconds, according to data recorded by the GPS used to analyze the car’s performance. . For its part, the speedometer displayed no less than 280 km/h.
