Conversely, Sébastien Loeb saw his hybrid system fail him in this special. The Alsatian could not continue his momentum, to win a 5th special in a row. He still finished in 3rd position and maintained his lead ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The eight-time world champion in the discipline attacked as much as possible to recover his due. He finally finished 2nd in the special and positioned himself 14.4 seconds behind his rival.
Behind, the Hyundais have found their old demons, called “reliability”. Thierry Neuville could not take advantage of his hybrid system. He limits the damage with a 9th place, maintaining his 4th position in the general classification.
