The days follow one another and are not alike. Kalle Rovanperä was the first pilot to set off on the special n°9. After two days in difficulty, the young Finnish talent pulls himself together and achieves a very good performance. He manages to rank 2nd of the session, just behind a certain Elfyn Evans (P1 de la ES9). The Briton too had finished the day on Friday with difficulties under the changing conditions. The pilot Toyota has not said its last word and is attacking hard this morning. He achieves the best time of the Thorame-Haute and picks up less than 15 seconds from the head of the general classification.
Conversely, the two Sébastiens had difficulty getting the day off to a good start. To begin with, Sebastien Ogier (P3 of SS9) does not feel confident with his car, in addition to seeing his hybrid system acting up. On the side of Sebastien Loeb, it is not better. The Alsatian failed to set the pace in this special. He concedes almost 7 seconds to Elfyn Evans.
But the one who knows the most tragic fate is none other than Ott Tänak. The Estonian was victim of a puncture from the start of the session. He was forced to reach the finish in slow motion and now concedes more than 2 minutes behind in the general classification.
