On the last snowy special of the day, Sébastien Ogier made the difference with Sébastien Loeb. He manages to widen a gap of 21 seconds. Summary of the special stage and general classification:
The snow makes the business of Sebastien Ogier. The eight-time world champion made the good tire bet and knew how to manage the difficult conditions at the end of the day to perfection. Even if he does not appear as the fastest today (P2 of SS13), the pilot Toyota impresses in its regularity, regardless of the terrain and the condition of his car. It therefore ends with 21.1 seconds ahead of Sébastien Loeb in the general classification.
Unlike his rival, the Alsatian had more difficulty managing his poor tire choices. These bad decisions cost him precious seconds. But there are still 4 specials left before deciding between the two men of this Rallye Monte-Carlo. Outside the planet Sébastien, we find Kalle Rovanperä (P1 de la ES13). The young Finn presented himself as the best of the rest today. For the second time, he set the fastest time in a session and moved up to 4th place in the general classification.
Behind, the gaps are very tight. All pilots face mechanical problems. But it’s whoever makes the fewest mistakes to limit the breakage, who will win tomorrow afternoon. For the moment, the one who has done the least in this special is Takamoto Katsuta. The Japanese missed himself on the snow, he is pulled out wide and came crashing into a pile. He ends up wasting precious time and finish last. So place at general classification of the Monte-Carlo Rally, before the last day:
- Ogier / Veillas (Toyota): 2:19:43.1
- Loeb / Galmiche (Ford) : +21.1 s
- Breen / Nagle (Ford) : + 1:26.0 s
- Rovanperä / Halttunen (Toyota): +2: 08.8 p
- Greensmith / Andersson (Ford) : +6:33.8 s
- Neuville / Wydaeghe (Hyundai) : +7:44.1 s
- Katsuta / Johnston (Toyota): +12: 23.3 s
- Evans / Martin (Toyota) : +20:39.3 s
- Tänak / Järveoja (Hyundai): +23: 00.1 s
- Solberg / Edmondson (Hyundai) : +40:57.5 s
