With sales up 20%, Kia is one of the only brands to progress in this context of health and economic crisis.
If you follow automotive news, you know that the situation is not really looking good for manufacturers, while the Marlet has literally collapsed since 2020. The fault of a stubborn health crisis which has paralyzed factories and concessions, and which does not seem determined to stop, then coupled with a shortage of semiconductors which is still very significant. In short, bad times for the automotive industry, which also has to deal with increasingly stringent standards. It is not surprising that sales have fallen very significantly in this more than unfavorable context. But as the market has returned to 1995 levels, one brand stands out and seems to rise above it all.
Kia on the road to success
This is Kia, which seems not to suffer from the crisis that is playing out at the moment, for two years already. Indeed, with more than 502,677 registrations recorded in Europe in 2021, an increase of 20.6%, the Korean firm is doing quite well. A success that then allows the Korean firm to reach a market share of 4.3%, against 3.5% the previous year. A real success which, according to the leaders of the brand, can be explained by an ability to quickly deliver new vehicles but also to offer a wide range of electric and plug-in hybrid models.
And there is no doubt that this trend should be confirmed, while the brand plans to launch a lot of new products in concessions. Among them are the Kia EV6 of course, as well as the recently unveiled new Sportage and Niro.
