Bentley has unveiled its new strategic plan with massive electrification from 2025. Five electric models will be launched in five years, for a 100% electric range by 2030.
The beginning of the year is often the occasion to announce its strategy for manufacturers. The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has just done so, as has Bentley, which has an ambitious plan for the coming years. The English brand will electrify its range, and will launch no less than five 100% electric models from 2025. So much for tomorrow!
The Crewe firm had already announced its transition to 100% electric from 2030, and therefore confirms its intentions. During its presentation, the company announced that it would invest approximately three billion euros over the next ten years. The first 100% electric model will be ready in 2025, and there will only be five years left to rock the brand, with the arrival of four other models that will replace the thermals that we know today. The pace of one launch per year seems fast, but Bentley seems confident. The first of five models could be a crossover based on Audi’s Artemis. But Bentley assures him, the manufacturing will be done well in the historic factory in Crewe, in the United Kingdom.
The rechargeable hybrid in the meantime
The other bodies have not been defined by the brand but they should logically be close to the current range, made up of the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga. While waiting for this major switch to all-electric, Bentley is counting on certain models already electrified thanks to hybridization. This is the case of the Bentayga plug-in hybrid, which currently accounts for around 20% of SUV sales. This engine will soon be available on the Flying Spur.
