Calendar
In its initial version, the 2022 Formula E calendar had no less than 16 races, which was a new record. However, the vagaries of the health crisis reduced this volume to 15 when season 8 kicked off in Saudi Arabia on January 28. For the time being, it is therefore the same total as in 2021, although the organizers hope to ensure the holding of a 16th event by specifying that this calendar “is subject to change”. At present, the 15 races in question are spread over 9 meetings. Three of them host a single race, namely Mexico City (February 12), Monaco (April 30) and Vancouver (July 2), with the Canadian city joining the championship for the first time. All other stages are responsible for hosting two races each. After Saudi Arabia, it is Rome, Berlin, New York, London and Seoul, concluding on August 13 and 14, 2022.

Drivers and teams
Reigning world champion, the Dutchman Nyck de Vries puts his crown back on the line. This is also the case for his stable, Mercedes, who renewed the same driver duo, with the Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne. To hope to give the answer to the builder with the star, Venturi stands out by displaying serious arguments. The Monegasque team has a Mercedes engine and continues to trust the Swiss Edoardo Mortara, defending runner-up, now associating the Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi, crowned in 2017 and arrived in the off-season from Audi, which left the discipline. Three of the 22 drivers entered in season 8 start in Formula E: Antonio Giovinazzi (F1), Dan Ticktum (F2) and Oliver Askew (Indycar). And in the absence of Norman Nato, there is now onlyonly one French pilot on the grid. This is the Pontoisien Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah), double champion in 2018 and 2019.

TV programs
Unlike most other major mechanical disciplines broadcast in France, Formula E is entitled to a free-to-air television exposure. Indeed, since last year, the world championship of electric single-seaters has been broadcast by the Team, having taken over from the Canal+ group. Depending on the event, the live broadcast is provided by the Chaine l’Equipe and/or in streaming on the media’s website. Furthermore, the group Eurosport is also the holder of the rights of the discipline.
