More and more, the Internet of Things is invading our daily lives. Connected objects make our life easier in the medical and domestic fields … but they transmit a mass of data and raise ethical questions.
L’internet of things (IoT, better known by the acronym IoT for Internet of Things, in English) in the health field helps monitor patients and initiates an emergency process. In addition to the identification of complications and automatic alerting, IoT facilitates regular checking of voltage or blood sugar, for example. For individuals, connected objects go hand in hand with Automation, they are everywhere in our houses, both in lighting, household appliances and security … If the Internet of Things is an innovative technology, a revolution digital, it is subject to reluctance and blockages at the ethical level.
We can indeed wonder about the purpose of collection of different data domestic and personal and on the client’s means of control. In view of the consequences and risks, the latter will eventually turn to companies and brands that will respect data control. Faced with these spy objects, ethics is a major issue.
