Theater at the start of the major school holidays, July is associated with the release of the official video game dedicated to Formula 1. Thus, it is launched at the mid-season stage of a championship contested from the end of March to mid-December. F1 2021 promises many new features, both in terms of content and modes of play.

Release date
Last year, exceptionally, the virtual side of the F1 world championship had been synchronized with his real alter ego. Indeed, the F1 2020 video game came out of the pits on July 6, the day after the Austrian Grand Prix, the first round of an exercise greatly delayed by the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic. This season, despite the persistence of the health crisis, the discipline was able to start at the beginning of spring, on March 28, during the Bahrain GP. For its part, the video game developed by Codemasters studio and published by EA Sports did not, however, anticipate its exit window. Thus, the arrival of F1 2021 will be effective July 16 and the game is already available for pre-order.
New arrivals
Compared to its predecessor, F1 2021 incorporates three new circuits. In the chronological order of the championship, it is that ofImola counting for the GP of Emilia-Romagna in Italy, that of Portimao in Portugal and the unique urban layout of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. They will be accessible in DLC, as free content after launch. The 20 drivers and 10 teams competing this season are obviously in this new opus, marking the arrival of Aston Martin and Alpine, in place of Racing Point and Renault. Moreover, the first official images published in April allow you to discover the profile of the 2021 single-seaters, except for Mercedes and Ferrari. The novelties on the content side are accompanied by many evolutions of game modes, detailed by Electronic Arts. At the center of attention for several years, the career mode benefits from a major update: one of your friends can join your online career mode or compete against you. Moreover, the mode « My Team » (My stable) is synonymous with a split screen to be able to play with two players on the same screen. The scripted mode « Braking Point » (Breaking Point) offers an immersive journey from Formula 2 to F1 to play as Devon Butler, Aiden Jackson and Casper Akkerman. Beyond the choice of the character’s avatar, it is possible to personalize his livery, his overalls, his gloves, his helmet and even his victory radio message. Finally, to best stick to reality, The mode « Real-Season Start » (Real start of the season) must allow the player to take the championship along the way as it is in real life, with driver and manufacturer rankings reproduced identically. Note that the arrival of the game on new generation consoles will be synonymous with new visuals and faster loading times.
F1 2021 prices
With less than three months of its release, set for July 16, 2021, this new opus is already available for pre-order. A deluxe edition, allowing you to benefit from an “additional pilots pack” and access to the game three days in advance, is offered at a price of 84,99 euros. For its part, theStandard edition is displayed at 69,99 euros. F1 2021 marks the arrival of the series on new generation consoles, in this case the PlayStation 5 et Xbox Series X ou S. The official Formula 1 World Championship video game will also be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC et Steam, the latter support being announced at 74,99 euros in Deluxe and 59,99 euros and Standard.
