1,003 kilometers. This is the new record forautonomy for a car standard at hydrogen that was awarded Toyota Mirai. Departed on May 26 from the station to hydrogen HysetCo located in Orly in the Paris region, it made its journey with a single charge of hydrogen, taking a mainly road route which passed through Loir-et-Cher and Indre-et-Loire. This world distance record for a hydrogen vehicle was achieved under the supervision of a bailiff.
In its press release, Toyota specifies that the Mirai achieved an average consumption of 0.55 g / km and that thehydrogen used was produced without the slightest program polluting. At the end of its trip, the car had 9 kilometers of remaining range. Recall that the official range of the Toyota Mirai is 650 km on the basis of the WLTP combined cycle with three tanks totaling 5.6 kg of hydrogen.
Four drivers took turns at the wheel of the Toyota Mirai for this record. Among them was Victorien Erussard, founder and captain of theEnergy Observer, a hydrogen-powered catamaran that set sail in 2017 for a six-year round-the-world trip. One of his fuel cells was developed by Toyota.
